Video Production Studio, Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre, City University of Hong Kong

Specifically dyed chroma-key green cyclorama, which is set at one side of the VPS, is controlled by the hoist control system. All lighting fixtures are installed on the lighting bars at the centre of the studio, providing professional lighting for shooting.

The chroma-key setting includes a green cyclorama and a green painted floor cover, which facilitates with chroma-key shooting.

A white cyclorama, as well as a black curtain at front, is set at the other sides of the VPS.

More than a Teaching Studio

Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre (CMC), the landmark building in the City University of Hong Kong, is a distinctive crystalline shaped, nine-storey complex designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, and advanced audio-visual equipment. The building houses the School of Creative Media, providing facilities that enable the University to become the first in Asia to offer the highest level of education and training in the creative media fields. The Video Production Studio (VPS) in CMC is a professional studio, which is far superior to an ordinary teaching studio.
In late 2010, the VPS was carried out configuring works of professional lighting, power and other services. In order to provide a splendid teaching and instructional environment for chroma-key shooting and real-time video mixing and editing, the studio is equipped with high power spotlights, intuitive control panel and chroma-key setting with a stringent lighting requirement. The chroma-key setting includes a specifically dyed green cyclorama and a green painted floor cover, which perfectly join together.

Scope of work

Macostar was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the Studio Lighting System and Motorized Rigging System in Video Production Studio, City University of Hong Kong.
