Television Broadcasts Limited, commonly known as TVB, is the first wireless commercial television station in Hong Kong. Since established in 1967, it is one of the largest producers of Chinese language programming in the world, accessible to over 300 million households.
To cope with future development, the company invested HK$2.2 billion in the construction of a new state-of-the-art TVB City in Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. The relocation and establishment of the new TVB city was a gigantic operation in Asia, the biggest scale of such project to date in Hong Kong, and completed successfully in 2003.
The working relationship between TVB and Macostar has been flourishing ever since the 1980s. For this project, Macostar gave a significant contribution in the studio lighting area, that involved the supply and installation of over 800 sets of motorized lighting hoist and related machinery hardware, and 860 channels of dimmers and related electrical distribution and wiring for all of their 17 TV production studios.
Scope of Work:
To design, supply, install and maintenance the dimmer system & motorized suspension system for 17 studios in TVB, TKO city, including Studio 1, their largest studio, with floor area about 1300 m² and 630 audience seats
